To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones, I created a series of five artworks that reimagine iconic figures and moments of the band through a pop lens, combining bold colors, simplified forms, and their signature tongue motif. Each piece transforms cultural icons into a visual dialogue with the energy and irreverence of rock.
One of the works depicts Frida Kahlo, whose image resonates with the same fearless spirit and iconic status as the Rolling Stones themselves. Her presence alongside the band’s symbolic language—the tongue, bold lines, and graphic intensity—creates a bridge between music, rebellion, and personal mythology.
The series is inspired by Sticky Fingers (1971), a record that became more than an album: a cultural landmark, merging genius and raw authenticity. Just as Keith Richards’ riffs are distilled to their essential chords, my chromatic choices are essential yet powerful, focusing on the few elements that immediately convey meaning and energy.
