Who takes the selfie is the subject of the work, but as usual happens in my production, the protagonist is above all the one who is not seen. By canceling the background implicitly I talk about it, I place the scene outside of time and space and the protagonists live in a suspended area, where the actions become important and revolutionary even if apparently banal.

In the selfie you try to prove your existence and value to the world, showing yourself in the best profile: I am there and I try to make it known. He talks about shared identity, the virtual one, sometimes difficult to manage because it is often far from the truth.

In this case, pink is associated with the female figure, it evokes tenderness and innocence and manifest emotional states, or those behaviors that society labels as weak: being moved, entrusting oneself, taking care of someone, showing one’s feelings and talking about one’s emotions.

This work is also the cover of the single Resignation by the composer and musician Alessandro Leo and is present in the major international digital music distribution platforms (Spotify, Amazon Music, Youtube). The meaning of the image has a powerful and current clarity: the impediment of personal expression, both for cultural and health reasons, in the Covid-19 era, which is overcome by a vital flicker that proceeds undaunted.
