WE NO LONGER KNOW HOW TO LOOK AT CITIES. WE ONLY KNOW HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH OURSELVES INSIDE THEM.
In this work, Venice loses its postcard-like stillness and becomes a consumable image, almost an advertisement.
The city appears familiar, recognizable, and even seductive, yet at the same time stripped of its traditional romantic aura. The landscape is reinterpreted through a pop visual language that simplifies forms and colors in order to reflect on how even historical beauty is now transformed into a rapid experience—something to be photographed, shared, and consumed instantly.
Venice is no longer merely a symbolic place of memory and art; it becomes a visual surface to move through quickly, the perfect backdrop for being seen rather than for truly seeing. The work offers an ironic commentary on contemporary tourism, the constant aestheticization of reality, and the compulsive need to turn every experience into an image.
Here again, simplification is not a technical limitation but a deliberate choice: the symbol is made immediate and accessible in order to expose how superficially it is often consumed.
